About D & S Supplies
D & S Supplies is a locally owned and operated welding and manufacturing business, registered since 2000. Darren is the owner and face of the business. He has a number of qualifications and certificates behind him. He is trade qualified as a boiler maker, fitter and motor mechanic. He also holds a rigger and doggers ticket and numerous machinery tickets. D & S Supplies currently employs two additional qualified boiler makers and an accounts manager. We capped off 2014 by receiving the Gladstone Best in Business Award for the Manufacturing and Fabrication category. We were again a finalist for this award at the end of 2015, 2020 and 2021 and nominated in 2023.
D & S Supplies is a multi-skilled workshop and can supply a vast range of services. All of which are manufactured in our workshop located in Boyne Island. D & S Supplies also offers an on-site service. Some examples of the on-site work we have previously provided includes; installation of portable buildings, general construction, and maintenance services. These services are all possible with our onsite Mobile Welding Truck (includes our own safety equipment and tools). Here at D & S Supplies, we pride ourselves on safety, service and quality workmanship. D & S Supplies employees are diligent with their work methods and Job Safety Analysis (JSA). We have had no loss time injuries in our work force throughout our operational history.
D & S Supplies prides itself on ‘staying local’. This includes; employing local workers, taking on apprentices, and providing our local high school students work experience from time to time. D & S Supplies also gets behind the community by sponsoring local sporting clubs; Tannum Crab Classic, M.A.C.E Central Qld Chapter, Calliope Rodeo, BITS Junior Golf, The Benaraby Drag Club, Boyne Island Football Club, Tannum Sands Surf Life Saving Club, and an individual local side car racer. We support local industry through active membership of the Gladstone Engineering Allegiance (GEA), Town Proud Campaign and Buy Local Campaign.

Darren is the owner and business manager at D & S Supplies. With many trades under his belt, Darren has a wealth of knowledge and abilities.

Admin & Accounts
Emily is the Accounts and Administrator at D & S Supplies. She also manages the marketing, IT and promotions within the company.
Joel Butler
Boilermaker
Joel is one of our amazing Boilermakers at D & S Supplies. He has a wealth of knowledge and the ability to problem solve any task that comes his way.
Our Involvement in the Community
As a local business to Central Queensland, D & S Supplies enjoys being able to support the community that supports them. Located at Boyne Island, D & S Supplies has enjoyed being able to sponsor sporting clubs such as Benaraby Drag Racing Association, the BITS Junior Golf events and the Boyne Island Seagulls Club. We also donate to fundraising events such as the Tannum Sands Crab Classic. Providing filleting benches, A board advertising stands and King swags. D & S Supplies is apart of the Annual Show n Shine event held by the M.A.C.E Central Qld Chapter through the means of donations/prizes, where profits go towards helping the youth of the local area. We have also donated and sponsored the Calliope Rodeo & Ute Muster, Bororen Pony Club and the Tannum Sands Surf Lifesaving Club.
Highlights and Awards
In 2014, D & S Supplies won the Best in Business Award, in the Manufacturing & Fabrication Category. In 2015 we were nominated for the same award and in both 2020 and 2021 we became finalists for the Best in Business Award, in the Manufacturing & Fabrication Category. The Team at D & S Supplies are very proud to be apart of the GCCI awards nights.
D & S Supplies has also put their skills and products on display many times in the GEA’s annual Supply Chain Expo. These events allow us to connect with other local businesses and the public by showcasing a wide range of products we can manufacture. We were proud to offer a gift basket at one of the Expos. Local businesses would put their business card in the jar and one lucky winner was drawn. D & S Supplies believes in making strong connections with other small businesses and we enjoy supporting the community that supports us.
