The team at D & S Supplies have been busy working on bathrooms lately! This bathroom has had sections rebuilt, has been Water Proofed by a licensed water proofer and is ready for wall lino to be installed.
D & S Supplies delivered and erected some temporary fencing today with bunting, construction signs, bracing, clamps and concrete bases
We supplied and installed wheel concrete blocks, with a concrete slurry mix to level and work as an adhesive, as the existing asphalt is very uneven. We then installed galvanised pins through the blocks and into the asphalt, to hold into place. Finished photos of it all cleaned up and drying. Well done team!
We started to strip out the old and damaged materials of the existing bath room, removed the flooring, wall sheeting and fittings, only to find that water had leaked through the walls & flooring causing wood rot and mould. We also found massive termite damage in most of the timber work around the bath room and adjacent walls.
We replaced most of the common studs, noggings, jack studs, head trimmer, top plate and bracing. The flooring was stripped back and had several coats of water proofing membrane on the floor and up the walls to meet compliant standards – this was performed by a certified water proofer. A complete fit out was than installed, including isolation points for water and water saving devices. A full Termite inspection was also performed to make sure there were no living termites in the remainder of the building.
We removed all damaged timber, and very unsafe handrails. We then installed new flooring timber on the joist, manufactured and installed new steel brackets to join the existing Bearers & Joist together, installed new bearers & joist where required and installed new timber flooring. We sanded everything down and stained the decking.
We designed & fabricated custom new compliant balustrade out of aluminium to suit the style of the house & the clients needs. It was sent away for Sand Blasting & Power Coating & installed on the balcony.
We isolated the water, removed existing tap wear and vanity. Removed water damaged vanities and cut tiles and piping to suit new vanity measurements. Install new vanity, plumbing, isolation valves, new hoses, tap wear, re-grout tiles, seal and paint existing wall to suit.
